Summary
This Code of Practice applies to the construction, equipment and operation of Australian rendering plants. It contains the minimum standards necessary to produce rendered products that are free of micro-organisms, parasite and substances that may represent a hazard to animal health. This Code of Practice also contains guidelines for the establishment at rendering plants of Quality Assurance Programs to accepted international standards. It is assumed that premises to which this Code refers are licensed by relevant State Authorities for the purposes of procurement, transport, handling, processing and security of waste products.
