Summary

Except for fertilise and feed supplements, the uses for the 'ash fraction' of meatmeal are based on clean degreased bone that has been rendered separately. This raises the questions of whether ash fractions separated from meatmal are suitable for the established uses and wheter renderers should continute to cook bone and soft material together.

The analysis show that both crude and refined 'ash fractions' of meatmeal appear to have excellent prospects for use as fertilisers. The crude 'ash fractions' are closely alligned to traditional bloody and bone.
