Summary

​A review of the European Union (EU) Sheepmeat Import Regime
An analytical and policy review of the operations of the existing EU sheepmeat import regime (to which Australia has limited quota access) and comparison with other red meat import regimes (within the EU and internationally).
The strengths and weaknesses of the sheepmeat import regime was examined and an evaluation of a more flexible (or alternative) regime investigated.
A final confidential research report was provided by the consultant and utilised by MLA / industry to inform future sheepmeat trade policy direction, advocacy activities and priorities.
