Summary
Based on the scoping study undertaken in November 2003, MLA project MS.021, the Consultant will establish 4 demonstration sites for the production of early weaned first cross lambs in pastoral zones of Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales western division. The early weaned (10-12 weeks) lambs will be purchased by finishers in southern cereal or irrigation districts. The project was terminated due to the very dry conditions all through the target regions little progress has been made. Continual contact with pastoralist and other professionals in the regions has kept a background to the project rolling along but no new areas have been opened.
