Summary

To evaluate whether selection for sexual dimorphism is a practical breeding objective in livestock species. The Aims of the Studies was to:
- Analyse historical data to observe whether indirect selection already occurs;
- Analyse historical data to observe whether the variation in selection emphasis is already resulting in sexual dimorphism
- Set up breeding programmes with sexual dimorphism as the sole selection criterion in order to estimate critical genetic parameters for sexual dimorphis.
