Summary
The Project assessed the impact of chemical applications and more targeted cleaning on nuisance fly control in feedlots. It developed and evaluated new, biological agents for the control of nuisance flies and explore options for integration of these agents into feedlot management. These biological agents were ideal tools for a fly integrated pest management (IPM) system, as they did not compromise existing natural ecosysytems, and enabled feedlots to minimise their nuisance fly populations with economically and ecologically sustainable methods.
