Limitations to animal production for ruminants grazing immature pastures: PhD

Project start date: 21 March 2005
Project end date: 23 September 2008
Publication date: 23 September 2008
Project status: Completed
Livestock species: Sheep, Goat, Lamb, Grassfed cattle

Summary

It is recognised that the productivity of the Australian sheep flock is well below its genetic potential and it is likely that one of the contributing factors is limited intake when grazing pasture high in water content. This project was a PhD study to clarify the role of plant water in this process.
The project was terminated due to an inability of the candidate to complete the study.
