Summary

This Producer Initiated Research and Demonstration project (PIRD) aimed to identify perennial pasture species and methods of establishment that would successfully revegetate the degraded foodplains and lift carrying capacity, productivity & long term sustainability. The project aimed at rejuvenating the currently degraded lignum , roly poly & bare earth landscape & replacing it with perennial grasses The project aimed to improve productivity by increasing carrying capacity to be measured by kg / beef / ha.
A successful outcome for the project was to improve output to 100kg beef/ha per year every year. The project was terminated due to poor pasture establishment and lack of group member commitment.
