Summary
MLA's Producer Initiated Research and Development (PIRD) project program was a key participatory learning opportunity for producers to conduct local research and development. This PIRD aimed to trial pasture utilisation concepts from More Beef from Pastures with a beef producer group. The project was to specifically target techniques for pasture establishment on waterlogged and saline areas, grazing management of summer active pastures on saline soils and monitoring weight gain in weaners. The project contract was terminated as the producer group did not wish to proceed with the project.
