Summary

​The NSW Food Authority in conjunction with MLA, AMIC and ACMF is hosting an Industry Summit "Dealing with Listeria in the processed meat and poultry industries" to:

  • better prepare meat and poultry industry to reduce chances of product
    contamination, recall and foodborne illness outbreaks from Listeria
  • provide best practice information for controlling Listeria
  • learn lessons from previous outbreaks
  • learn direction for food safety and where it is headed.

This CMA will support the costs of the meeting which will be free to
participants and support the attendance of two overseas speakers. Members of the MLA Expert Panel will make several presentations. This will be an early adoption event on product formulation to improve safety of processed meats.
