Cattle
A lack of accurate information regarding current animal husbandry practices within the Australian cattle industry prompted a comprehensive survey of beef producers across Australia. Some 882 Australian producers were surveyed to collect information regarding their animal husbandry practices. The likelihood of producers adopting alternative husbandry practices and using analgesia, as well as knowledge of codes of practice relating to husbandry, were also investigated.
Sheep
A lack of accurate information regarding current animal husbandry practices within the Australian sheep industry prompted a comprehensive survey of sheep producers across Australia. Some 856 Australian sheep producers were surveyed during September and October 2009 to collect information regarding their animal husbandry practices. The likelihood of producers adopting alternative husbandry practices and using analgesia, as well as knowledge of codes of practice relating to husbandry practices, were also investigated.
