Summary

The need to gain a comprehensive understanding of the environmental practices of Australian producers prompted this research to be commissioned by Meat and Livestock Australia.  A total of 1,465 interviews were completed between 5th of May to 28th of June, 2010 with cattle and lamb producers across all states and territories in Australia.    A diverse range of topics were investigated in this research, however the main areas researched were; grazing management, control of pests and weeds, soil and water management, conservation of significant areas, greenhouse gas and energy management, property planning, training needs and attitudes to environmental issues.
