Summary

Research
The initial objective of this project was to design and build a proof of concept prototype to automate the removal of beef banjos, while also addressing solutions for:
sensing
cutting
materials handling
integration
Subsequently, the project was ‘rescoped' or staged to focus initially on developing a device that could remove the scapula bone from the chuck tender and clod muscles.
Outcomes
The 2010 August marking trials were not successful although other useful outcomes and learnings resulted.
