Summary

Version 2 of the Livestock Air Transport Safety Assessment (LATSA) software has the ability togenerate key physiological data (heat, moisture and carbon dioxide) for a diverse range of thelivestock (cattle, sheep and goats) that might be transported on aircraft in Australia. Thesoftware caters for combinations of species, animal liveweight and crate configuration. Theprogram provides estimates of environmental hold conditions in the freighter and passengeraircraft normally employed in transporting livestock in or out of Australia. It also provides valuesfor parameters that are important in assessing the compliance of a consignment against theAustralian Standards for the Export of Livestock (ASEL).
