Summary
The project undertook the consultation required to develop the Feedlot R&D Program Strategic Plan 2006-2011. A 2-day facilitated workshop was conducted to identify the strategic issues to be addressed by future research activities. This workshop involved industry representatives, industry service providers and professionals aligned with specific industry issues. In addition, consultation was undertaken with organisations and individuals that service the feedlot sector research, development, education and training requirements; plus organisations that regulate and monitor industry environmental and animal welfare performance. The plan was subsequently endorsed by both ALFA and MLA.
