This was the first time that the Symposium was held outside of Latin America and was a satellite meeting of the International Grasslands Congress (2013). The program included invited speakers from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, China, Chile, Japan, Brazil and the UK, covering a wide range of topics from genetic resources through to genomic selection and the economic evaluation of genetic gain in forage plants.
