Summary

This project retained Professor Milton Hearn of Monash University Centre for Green Chemistry to assist in the development of new directions for the high value bioactives initiatives. Work included preparation of a "Request for Innovation" (RFI) document calling
for submissions for novel blood based bioactive products and applications, advice on the potential next steps in exploiting the chelating properties of haemoglobin and assisting in the delivery of the 2014 Bioactives workshop in Brisbane. The RFI included detailed and suitably referenced exemplars of a range of applications of blood fractions, designed to stimulate respondents to think outside the square
