Summary
This project was established to cover the additional cost of feed for the Angus BIN cattle that were assessed for Net Feed Intake at the Tullimba Research Feedlot facility during 2014-15. Total costs of feed exceeded those budgeted for originally, due to increased price of commodities as a result of drought conditions across northern NSW and southern QLD during this period. UNE, Angus Australia and MLA have agreed to split these costs three ways. An earlier CMA project, B.FLT.0159, covered the costs associated with cohorts 4 to 8. This CMA represents MLAs one third of the additional feed costs for cohorts 9 to 13 of the Angus cattle that went through the facility during this period.
