Beef Producers Input Price Index

Summary

Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) requested ABARES to develop a methodology for measuring the changes in farm input costs for beef producers and to develop an input price index for Australian beef producers. The index was reported separately for northern and southern Australian producers. Provided an update on the input price index of beef producers (BPIPI) on a quarterly basis using the methodology developed by ABARES. MLA used this information to inform beef producers and industry decision makers on movements in farm costs, and reported the data when released via the Market News section of the website - see an example byclicking here.
