Summary
The SAFEMEAT Initiatives Review Steering Group and the LPA Advisory Committee agreed on the need to strengthen the LPA recommitment process, to increase producer understanding and compliance with LPA standards.
Both groups identified the need to efficiently and cost effectively improve producer understanding of LPA standards and requirements. The accreditation and recommitment process has been identified as the point to engage producers in this process, as producers must go through it to access the commercially required LPA NVD.
An online training course and recommitment process for the LPA program, encompassing all elements of the on-farm risk management system, has been developed.
