Summary

Weed management information is presented without recognition of the context of the producer's knowledge base of factors influencing weed control, control actions will be implemented, and the best approach within that context.  Reducing the risk and uncertainty of a successful outcome is required. This project investigated a "resilience thinking" and systems approach to, identify thresholds/tipping points, the drivers/controlling variables and optimal intervention points given the contexts.

This project was conducted as a proof of concept study, that will link the on farm context (e.g. biophysical and socio-economic) in development and validation of weed control approaches for 5 target weeds in northern NSW and north-central Victoria.

The project was terminated before completion/validation, as the skills sets required in this stage were not available through the current vendor. Developmental work has provided insights to the packaging of weed management recommendations.
