Summary
The National Livestock Genetics Consortium (NLGC) is a concept that is being progressed by key investors across the value chain. It is a future coordination vehicle that can increase collaboration, transparency, communication and investment in livestock genetics research, development and extension (RD&E) in Australia. The primary aim of this initiative is to significantly increase the rate of genetic progress achieved in the sheep and beef industries.
On 22 April, interested potential co-investors declared in-principle support for the establishment of a consortium and a supporting Implementation Committee.
The function of the NLGC Implementation Committee is to build on the draft prospectus and develop a more detailed Investment Plan that outlines in detail the objectives, key performance indicators, processes for initiating projects and the governance structures that need to be put in place to manage the consortia into the future.
This project covered the fees and expense costs associated with the role of the Executive Officer to coordinate and direct the activities of the NLGC Implementation Committee in order to deliver the Business and Investment Plan.
