Summary
Stage 1 of this project provided communication support to the SAFEMEAT Initiatives Review Steering Group in the preparation and delivery of their final report to SAFEMEAT and will assist in the preparation of a communication plan to support the SAFEMEAT phase-out of pre-2013 NVDs. The project will develop an integrated communication strategy for industry’s integrity systems (NLIS, LPA and NVDs) to support the roll-out of a number of program enhancements during 2015/16.
Stage 2 of this project implemented the integrated integrity system communication strategy, which was developed in Stage 1. The communication strategy, incorporating NLIS, LPA and NVDs aimed to:
- Create awareness amongst livestock producers of the value and importance of industry integrity systems to the reputation of Australian red meat
- Creat an understanding of and support for the on-going farm practices that are required to maintain this reputation
- Motivate livestock producers to modify on-farm practices so as to meet and exceed customer and consumer expectatios of red meat production.
