This is part of the Rural RnD for Profit Project.
Under the guidance of the FIC team, this component of the program will develop the Emerging Leaders' capability by:
- Designing and delivering a customised four-day intensive program that introduces them to Food Innovation tools with a focus on practical issues relating to intrapreneurship, culture change and direct application of best-practices
- Leading an "Intrapreneur" approach that introduces the Emerging Leaders to aspects/challenges of food innovation at all levels of business that need to be addressed practically including knowledge mapping, product mapping, ideation, prototyping and design led thinking application in order to generate winning ideas with sustained future business success.
The outcomes of the program for the Young Food Innovators will be a practical understanding of challenges that need to be considered when driving innovation outcomes at all levels of business (i.e. on-farm to R&D) in businesses, using a real world project at a company level as a model system. It is anticipated this project will lead to a direct return in new products, services or market access for the host company.
The impact of this program will be measured by looking at the full two-year period of the Young Food Innovators' placement.
