Multi-species electronic NVD proof of concept trials with ITP

Summary

​The purpose of this project was for Integrated Technology Partners (ITP) to develop eNVD retrieval capabilities as part of their commercial product suite, and then once licensed for the trial, for ITP to conduct live trials together with other software integrators. The trials would demonstrate the accuracy and effectiveness of thebusiness rules, data standards, and license agreements, and to identify any software and system refinements that should be implemented prior to system roll-out. The trial would involve the declaration of actual livestock movements (i.e. not test/dummy movements) by consignors using trial-licensed eNVD software, with the eNVD record retrieved by the intended recipients at the processor using ITP’s trial-licensed software. Paper NVDs would not be required during the trial for movements declared using eNVDs.

This project was terminated early due to ITP's partnership with Emydex prematurely ending during this project. Emydex was ITP's service provider during the project, however both ITP and Emydex determined they would develop eNVD capabilities separately mid-way through the project. As such, it was decided by ITP to terminate this Agreement and negotiate a new MDC contract with MLA & MDC once the latest eNVD design specifications were available.
