Summary

During 2014 – 2016 a number of value added proof of concept and preliminary science and technology and market reviews and reports were sourced as MLA looked to engage with industry with new product, process and packaging initiatives. Consumable costs incurred with these activities and reports and input from technology portfolio review experts along with subscriptions to IGD market and retail analysis were attributed to the CMA along with repairs and maintenance to MLA's Smartshape Demo unit – a science and technology platform developed by MLA and trialled at various companies under separate MDC funded activities.
V.RMH.0027 summaries some active packaging systems concepts which extend the shelf life of food products by extending product quality and increasing safety, protecting against intentional and unintentional contamination, and enhancing the convenience of food processing, distribution, retailing, and consumption
