Summary

This contract covers the management costs associated with the Southern Australia Research Advisory Council (SALRC) for the purpose of regional consultation. The contract covers the 2018-21 period and includes management of the committee, compilation of SALRC research priorities and other operational costs (such as training, recruitment and meeting expenses).

Objectives

This project supports the efficient and effective management of SALRC to ensure the interests and priorities of southern Australian producers are incorporated in MLA planning and investment.

Benefits to industry

By supporting the Southern Australia Livestock Research Advisory Council (SALRC), MLA provides a structured way for producers to contribute recommendations on research, development and adoption (RD&A) for red meat and livestock industries across the region.

SALRC coordinates seven regional committees, organises meetings and events and administers the allocated MLA funds for operational costs to assist with priority setting that contributes to the investment call. SALRC ensures adequate governance processes are in place to meet MLA funds management guidelines.
