Summary

This contract includes the costs associated with the Western Australian Research Advisory Council (WALRC) for the purpose of regional consultation. In 2019-20 WALRC compiled the WALRC research priorities and associated activities.

Objectives

This agreement covers the 2019-20 allocation of MLA funds for WALRC to be administered on behalf of MLA. The funds will be used for:
- coordinating appointed producer members from across southern WA
- producer member sitting fees and travel expenses
- meeting expenses
- producer member training
- member recruitment costs
- WALRC secretariat management fee.

Benefits to industry

By supporting Western Australian Livestock Research Advisory Council (WALRC), MLA provides a structured way for producers to contribute to research, development and adoption (RD&A) initiatives in the Australian red meat and livestock industries.

WALRC coordinates meetings and events and administers the allocated MLA funds for operational costs to assist with the research, development and adoption priority setting which contributes to the investment call. WALRC ensures adequate governance processes are in place to meet strict MLA funds management guidelines.
