Summary

A review, update and test of MLA's internal Crisis Response Plan was performed to ensure it fits the broader regulatory and policy environment, and was compatible with ISC's Crisis Management Plan as well as various Federal and State Department's response plans (as required). Training of the plan and its practical application was also delivered to the MLA CRT and technical advisors. This objective was to build MLA's crisis preparedness and strengthen crisis response knowledge and capabilities, and to understand our roles to lead an internal crisis or to support in an industry crisis.

To build MLA's crisis preparedness knowledge and abilities and ensuring the response activities and documents are fit for purpose and compatible with various Federal and State Department's response plans.

Key findings

Updates to the plan and response templates were made to ensure currency and relevance.

Benefits to industry

MLA understands its roles and responsibilities in managing an internal crisis or in supporting a wider industry crisis, including structured and efficient methods of responding during a crisis.

MLA action

Recommendations from the review of the Crisis Response Plan, templates and testing of the plan have been addressed through updates of the relevant documents, training and a scenario exercise.

Future research

Maintenance of the crisis response plan and preparedness activities to build and strengthen capability and knowledge.
