Summary

The Adoption program at MLA completed an annual impact assessment for producer adoption projects completed calendar year 2024. This project resulted in the calculation of benefits obtained from PDS projects and complete finalisation of the impact assessment reports (for calendar year 2024) for MLA Adoption programs that are required to report the impact figures in the Producer Adoption Outcomes Report.

Objectives

1.    Review existing case study data for completing impact assessment in 2024 and future years.
2.    Identify gaps in case study data that require filling either by creating new case studies, updating existing case studies, completing new surveys or identifying other solution to ensure the gap is filled. Also identify any practice change areas that have not previously been investigated including containment feeding, grazing land management (EDGE), Northern Australia specific case studies and sustainability.
3.    Update the adoption and attribution assumptions for Category A, B and C programs, based on a small-scale survey.
4.    Assist where requested with developing PDS specific evaluation frameworks as well as training coordinators on the extension evaluation framework.
5.    Review the PDS projects that were completed in 2024 and complete an analysis to determine the $/ha benefit from these projects for those that showed eligible and worthwhile reportable benefits. Using the data obtained from the PDS milestone and final reports, calculate the adoption curve (to 2045) and complete the PDS impact assessment report templates.
6.    Complete individual impact assessment reports for core MLA Adoption programs including PGS, EDGEnetwork, MeatUp, BeefUp and BredWell FedWell.
7.    Complete individual impact assessment reports for other programs reviewed in this project that are found to have sufficient adoption, monitoring and evaluation data worthy of including in the assessment.
