Summary
The National Schools Food & Fibre Education Strategy is an RDC collaboration addressing long standing challenges in activating consistent, high-quality food and fibre education across Australian primary and secondary schools. While most RDCs already invest in food and fibre education, the 'Strategy' provides a mechanism for collaboration on new initiatives and to improve the effectiveness and impact of existing activities. The National Schools Food & Fibre Education Strategy was published in November 2025. As a result of this work, RDCs will collaborate to implement Strategy recommendations over future years.
Objectives
Undertake research across educator and industry education networks to identify perceptions and barriers to the adoption of food and fibre school education and investigate current food and fibre school education initiatives to inform the development of a Strategy for future deployment.
