Summary
The estimated value of non-tariff barrier (NTB) alleviation in FY26 totalled $198m. This was primarily delivered via numerous Australian beef processing establishments gaining new or enhanced listing access to China and Indonesia. MLA contributed to this outcome via ongoing in-market advocacy with both government and commercial entities. From the 2020 baseline, cumulative non-tariff barrier alleviation now totals $862m.
Objectives
MLA makes a significant contribution to the joint industry effort of alleviating an additional $100m of the impact of non-tariff barriers.
