In the quest to maintain Australian Beef’s competitive global position and create increasing value for the industry, Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) will provide insights on industry programs that are creating opportunities for supply chain partners and extracting increased carcase value.

The seminar will demonstrate how these technologies and programs are generating greater income for the whole supply chain, including on-farm. This includes the evolving Meat Standards Australia program underpinning brand growth and differentiation, objective measurement of current and new traits, and how feedback data and automation technologies will improve production efficiencies and ultimately value.

Michael Crowley – General Manager Research, Development & Adoption, MLA

Hailing from Barraba in northern New South Wales where his family run a stud and commercial beef cattle operation, Michael holds a Bachelor of Rural Science (UNE) along with a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (QUT). Michael has been with MLA since 2009 leading the Meat Standards Australia program and working in Brussels as International Business Manager EU and Russia. Michael is now General Manager Research, Development and Adoption and manages a broad business unit responsible for supply chain RD&A investments including livestock genetics, on farm productivity, eating quality, sustainability, innovation, automation, objective measurement, market access science and product innovation. Prior to MLA Michael has held a range of commercial positions including running his own business marketing livestock and running beef processing for branded beef exporters.
