PDS Updates Webinar: Focus on weighty weaners
Are your weaners achieving their growth potential?
Join Meat & Livestock Australia for the next webinar in our PDS Updates webinar series and hear the latest findings from the ‘Focus on weighty weaners’ Producer Demonstration Site project.
The project is working with beef producers across East Gippsland to identify the key factors influencing post-weaning growth rates and demonstrate practical management strategies that support improved livestock performance.
Early project findings have highlighted the significant role feed quality, internal parasite burdens and trace element deficiencies can play in limiting growth rates. During this webinar, our project facilitator and participating producers will share their experiences, key learnings and practical strategies being implemented to achieve growth rates greater than 1kg/head/day.
You'll hear about:
- Key findings from Year 1 benchmarking across seven demonstration sites
- The relationship between nutrition, feed quality and weaner growth rates
- The impact of internal parasites and trace elements on performance
- What producers are implementing in Years 2 and 3 of the project
- Practical take-home insights you can apply in your own business.
Speakers
- Chelsea Hair, Herd Solutions
- Jaz Maher, Producer
- Amy Rogers, Producer
