Key points
Have your say on levy resolutions ahead of MLA’s 2026 AGM
Goat and grassfed cattle levy payers are encouraged to vote on proposed levy changes ahead of Meat & Livestock Australia’s 2026 Annual General Meeting.
The AGM will be held as a hybrid event at The Ville Resort in Townsville and online from 3.30pm Queensland time on Tuesday 24 November 2026.
Eligible goat and grassfed cattle members will also be asked to vote on separate levy resolutions proposed by the Goat Industry Council of Australia and Cattle Australia.
For information about the proposed goat levy change, read the explanatory note for the proposed goat transaction levy change.
For information about the propose grassfed cattle levy change, read the explanatory note for the proposed grassfed cattle transaction levy change or visit the Cattle Australia cattle transaction levy hub.
Who can vote?
Only members of the goat and grassfed cattle classes will be eligible to vote on these resolutions.
The vote will be conducted in a separate ballot to ensure eligible levy payers can vote even if they are not MLA members.
Ballot forms and voting instructions are currently being distributed by email or post. All goat and grassfed cattle levy payers can vote through the online portal as soon as the information is received.
Only MLA members registered in the goat or grassfed cattle classes are eligible to vote on the levy resolutions in real time at the AGM.
If you are not an MLA member, your vote must be received by 3.30 pm (AEST) on Sunday 22 November, or you can appoint a proxy to vote for you at the AGM.
If you don't know anyone attending MLA's AGM to appoint as your proxy, you can appoint the MLA Chair to act in this capacity.
As it is not appropriate for MLA to vote on this matter as a recipient of the levy, please make sure you direct how you would like your votes cast.
If you believe you are eligible, but have not received a ballot form by Friday 16 October, contact MLA on 1800 023 100 or email membership@mla.com.au.
