Summary

This area comprises projects to manage odour emissions from meat processing, including on-site rendering. A major component was to develop an electronic nose (E-nose) to automatically detect odour levels and assist with management of problematic levels. A number of roll-out projects were conducted for the technology, but the technology proved in-efficient and adoption failed. Further, general projects on odour management technologies, such as biofilter assessments, have been conducted.
