Summary
Using production data from northern beef herds, this project modelled the economic benefit of surgical female contraception. Avoiding unwanted pregnancies can improve beef herd profitability, but the available data did not enable a robust cost-benefit analysis. Spaying is a possible alternative if bull control is not 100%.
