Summary
The safefood website was a joint initiative between MLA and SAFEMEAT, and aimed to supply consumers, students and the general public with food and product safety information. The website contained microbiological profiles and information on particular strains of pathogen, as well as where consumers could go for extra information or to make a food safety complaint. The website was upgraded to improve its usability, appearance and content.
The purpose of this project was to update the content contained on theSafefood website to ensure it is current and meeting the needs of consumers. The project included a review and upgrade of all the following areas of the Safefood website (general content and links to external websites / information):Food safety tipsThe bug bibleIndustry information (to be renamed Australia's food regulation systems)
The material in this website was later incorporated into the MLA consumer website 'the main meal'.
