Summary

The current Livestock Data Link (LDL) project is far-reaching and has a high impact within the red meat industry. This program must meet stakeholder's expectations which is critical to ensure its value is both achieved and appreciated. There are multiple internal and external stakeholders in this program. Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) needed to develop an understanding of external stakeholder expectations and to highlight to the MLA LDL management group the behavioural aspects which need to be recognised for successful uptake and support.
The objective of research was to identify the key differences in the buying behavior of external stakeholders, to understand the likely responses to, and expectations of, LDL and to allow LDL to be presented to different types of stakeholder effectively. Although LDL will be an industry tool, we are conscious that the various parties who will use it, will have different expectations, and perhaps see different opportunities as to how it can add value to their respective businesses. It is important to understand these different perspectives as LDL is introduced and tested over the next few months.
