Teaching & Research Support for Meat Industry Eating Quality Programs

Summary

MLA's goal is for Australian industry to be able to provide customers with beef and sheepmeat that is of consistent and predictable eating quality, for both domestic and export markets, in a cost effective manner. The MQST program aimed to develop and implement off-farm technologies and processes for optimising eating quality.  
These support projects covered the following:

Costs associated with the purchase/development of communication material, publications, printing, and presentations at conferences related to MQST program to demonstrate the benefits of these outcomes to the Industry.

Furthermore, a special workshop to preview a process control technology which could assist meat processors in optimising eating quality was organised under this project to Introduce the 'Quality Optimised Process' (QOP) model and its potential use in meat process control for quality optimisation and collate feedback to help determine features of a processor friendly interface design.
