Summary
The Research Organisation screened at least 400 new accessions of perennial grasses and develop 4 experimental varieties of Australian-adapted temperate perennial grass species suited to low rainfall regions and selected for yield, ease of establishment, higher water use, nutrient value, summer/winter growth and persistence. Lines were at seed bulk-up stage, ready for comparative testing by a commercial partner.
