Summary

The National Livestock Methane Program was under development and included a Head Agreement between DAFF and MLA for MLA to lead the coordination of a national program of research around methane abatement. The program included 17 detailed full proposals submitted to MLA in June 2012. To develop a well-coordinated program of research the proposals were reviewed and changes to work plans negotiated with science teams and DAFF both before and after the Heads of Agreement was signed. This review helped ensure we have well designed projects that allow us to optimize coordination between projects in NLMP. It is part of the MLA role to ensure high science quality in projects and identify opportunities for linkage across themes within NLMP.
