Summary

These e-bulletins were produced monthly for Meat & Livestock Australia by Agrifood Awareness Australia Limited. The purpose of the e-bulletins was to provide MLA and its members with a monthly gene technology update for industry information and intelligence and issues management. With investments in gene technologies, it was critical for MLA and its stakeholders to be aware of developments and emerging issues to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront. It was also critical that decision making about the potential use of such technology is science-based and that the red meat industry and consumers receive balanced, factual information to allow for informed decision making. The monthly bulletins included information on:major scientific developments
Australian regulation (gene technology and food)
International media reports
gene technology events
market research
activist activities
information regarding relevant government enquiries & reviews
