Summary
MLA requires animal health expertise for advice and assistance for two projects.
1. MLA project B.BSC.0034 includes an animal trial that will benefit from eating quality data gathered on animals used, and this required application to the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority for the animals to be approved to enter the human food chain. The consultant has expert knowledge in this field and advised the researcher on the details to be included in the application.
2. MLA has recently had an expert review of recent advances in innate immunity which identified a number of opportunities projects developed to build on recent advances in this field to the benefit of livestock production. The project in development was put into the context of current R&D in the commercial animal pharmaceutical sector and the consultant was engaged for this purpose.
