Summary

In 2014 MLA introduced a participatory research program to enable producer involvement in the Feedbase Investment Plan. This program is the Producer Research Site program and aims to involve producers in design, implementation and interpretation of the research.
25 producer groups from across Southern Australia worked with research leaders funded via the Feedbase Investment Plan.
The objectives of the Producer Research Site (PRS) program was to:
Add value to the existing research under the Feedbase Investment Plan

Test if and how new research fits or could fit within farm systems if modified
Speed up the development and adoption of new research
Involve innovative, information seeking producers in research funded by MLA
For producers to influence future research agendas
Project snapshots are available for each Producer Research Site, as well as the final report from each site.

L.FIP.1703 - CMA: PRS Producer Research Site harvesting
This CMA is to conduct two workhops, in Sydney and Perth, for the Producer Research Site (PRS) program to enable successful harvesting of the participatory research program under the Feedbase Investment Plan. This process has already been conducted in Victoria with 7 groups. The NSW/Sydney workshop will involve 4 PRS groups and researchers, and the Perth workshop will involve up to 9 PRS groups and their researchers. The outcome of the workshops will enable MLA to build a solid extension brief to disseminate the outcomes of the producer related work under the Feedbase Investment Plan.
