Objectives

This agreement covers the 2019-20 allocation of MLA funds for SALRC to be administered by SALRC on behalf of MLA. The funds will be used for:

  • SALRC Regional Committee operations
  • producer member sitting fees and travel expenses
  • meeting expenses
  • producer member training
  • member recruitment costs
  • SALRC secretariat management fee.

Benefits to industry

By supporting South Australia Livestock Research Advisory Council (SALRC) MLA helps provide producers a structured way to contribute to recommendations on research and development (R&D) and adoption initiatives and investments in the Australian red meat and livestock industries across the region.

SALRC coordinates the seven regional committees, organises meetings and events, administers the allocated MLA funds for operational costs to assist with the research, development and adoption priority setting which contributes to the investment call. SALRC ensures adequate governance processes are in place to meet strict MLA funds management guidelines.
