Summary

A series of MLA funded projects aimed to develop a new bioprocess that amplifies yields of commercially valuable bioactive products from 'farmed' animal organs.

This project covered the intellectual property (IP) costs including freedom to operate and consultation on a possible patent for research project A.BIT.0001, which investigated the production and viability of bioactives using in virto culture of cells sourced from meat processing.

Early results were not able to be replicated, and new manufacturing technologies have overtaken and replaced extraction methods. It was determined that this approach is not commercially viable, and this project was therefore terminated.
