Summary

The Livestock Export Research and Development Advisory Committee (LERDAC) is the skills-based strategic advisory committee for the joint Livestock Export research and development Program (the LEP) that comprises producer and exporter representatives (nominated by the red meat and livestock industry peak industry councils), an independent technical advisor, an animal welfare/social science representative, an independent chairperson, a LiveCorp representative and an MLA representative. LERDAC meets face to face three or four times per year to consider the LEP R&D projects. This project covers the meeting and travel expenses associated with attending LERDAC meetings.

Benefits to industry

LERDAC is responsible for ensuring continuity and delivery of the goals identified in the the LEP R&D Blueprint 2020-25 at the strategic level. The LEP R&D Management Committee supported the project and budget allocation.
