Summary

The purpose of this Company Managed Agreement (CMA) is to fund interim progress on the recommendations made under the Precision to Decision (P2D2) project.

The eleven Research and Development Corporations (RDC's) have collaborated on a new Rural for Profit application “Australian Agriculture: Growing a Digital Future to lift the digital maturity of the sector from adhoc to competitive, lift economic growth and prepare the workforce for the future”.

While the success of the application is unknown, the RDCs wish to continue this year with the commencement of a Digital transformation Taskforce for the Australian Agricultural sector, for further development of agricultural digital maturity, data governance and digital capability frameworks with project partners including CSIRO and Griffith University and the University of the Sunshine Coast for endorsement by the taskforce.

Benefits to industry

This initiative targets a lift in gross value product (GVP) by an additional 1.8-3.6% over and above the average GVP growth of the sector by 2022, adding $1.3-2.7 Billion to the sector. This CMA will support the industry in by lifting:

  • the digital maturity of the sector from adhoc to competitive.
  • economic growth and prepare the workforce for the future.
  • average GVP growth of the sector by 2022.
