Summary

Profitable Grazing Systems (PGS) is an MLA adoption program which drives measurable, improved business performance outcomes for participating red meat producers. This Supported Learning Project (SLP), Lifting Lamb Survival is developed by a collegiate group of deliverers from SA and Victoria. Delivered in Tasmania over four sessions, Lifting Lamb Survival covers setting up a lambing plan, property visits and individual coaching.

Objectives

Deliver materials to assist producers with:

  • reproductive efficiency
  • improving conception rate
  • improving lamb survival
  • improving ewe and lamb survival
  • best practice management for lambing
  • increasing the kilograms of wool and/or lamb produced per hectare.

Benefits to industry

The purpose of the delivery program is to overcome production barrier in lamb survival by using small groups of producer-coach training methods to learn, practice and implement new skills to their business.
